In September 2013, the Korean automaker Hyundai unveiled a five-door hatchback called the Grand i10, an extended version of the second generation i10. The car is focused on the market of developing countries (in Russia, its official sales are not conducted and are not planned).

Outside, Hyundai Grand i10 repeats the standard car, except for the overall dimensions (although it has grown, it is still a representative of the European A-class): 3765 mm in length, 1520 mm in height and 1660 mm in width. The car has a 2425 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 167 mm.

Depending on the version, its "combat" weight ranges from 1051 to 1078 kg.

Modern design, high-quality finishing materials and a five-seater layout - the interior of the Hyundai Grand i10 is similar to the "older" budget models.

The hatchback's luggage compartment volume varies from 252 to 1202 liters due to the convertible backrest of the rear sofa.

Specifications. One of a pair of gasoline units with distributed injection can be placed under the hood of the Korean subcompact.

  • The basic version is a 1.0-liter engine with 67 horsepower and 95 Nm of torque,
  • and the "top" - 1.25-liter engine with a return of 87 forces and 121 Nm.
  • Available for Hyundai Grand i10 and "direct" diesel 1.2-liter, developing 71 "horses" and 160 Nm of ultimate thrust.

They work in conjunction with "mechanics" for five speeds or "automatic" with four ranges, as well as front axle wheel drive.

The car is based on a front-wheel drive platform "BA" and is endowed with an independent suspension of the MacPherson type at the front and a semi-independent structure with a torsion bar and springs at the rear.

The Hyundai Grand i10 uses a rack and pinion steering mechanism with an electric power amplifier, and the braking system is formed by disc devices on all wheels (with ventilation at the front) and ABS with EBD.

Prices. Hyundai Grand i10 is sold in emerging markets. For example, in Mexico this car is offered at a price of ~ 137 thousand Mexican pesos, in India it is sold for ~ 480 thousand rupees, and in South Africa - from ~ 155 thousand rand.

The level of equipment depends to a large extent on the sales market.
