The first public display of the sixth generation Chevrolet Corvette (C6) in coupe and convertible bodies took place in January 2004 at the Detroit motor show, however, only as prototypes. A few months later, the car went into mass production. In 2008, the model underwent an update, which "gave" her many improvements, affecting both design and technical part, and a little later received a "crazy" version of the ZR1.

The production of a sports car with the C6 index was discontinued in 2013, and its total circulation was just over 201 thousand copies.

The 6th generation Chevrolet Corvette has a classic supercar look - a wedge-shaped silhouette with a long hood and a rearward-shifted cockpit. The aggressive front end is crowned with teardrop-shaped optics and an aerodynamic bumper, and the powerful stern is crowned with a quartet of red round lanterns and a "four-barrel" exhaust system.

Depending on the modification, the length of the Chevrolet Corvette C6 is 4435-4460 mm, the width is 1844-1928 mm, and the height is 1245-1247 mm with a wheelbase of 2685 mm. The car has two body types - a coupe with a hard, but removable top, and a convertible with a soft roof, transforming in 18 seconds.

Inside "Corvette C6" there is an artless and ordinary interior with hard plastics in the decoration (although there is also good-quality leather). The dashboard is simple in style and heaped with numbers, and the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel does not shine with originality.

And the center console looks a little trite, even in spite of the color display of the multimedia complex and the "climate" control unit.

"American" is equipped with two armchairs with a grippy profile and adjustable side support bolsters.

For everyday needs, the Coupe version offers a 634-liter luggage compartment (this is not always found even on station wagons), but the Convertible is less practical - its hold varies from 144 to 295 liters depending on the position of the roof.

Specifications. Under the hood of the standard 6th generation Chevrolet Corvette, a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 engine was originally installed, developing 405 "horses" and 546 Nm of thrust, but in 2008 it was replaced by a 6.2-liter unit, generating 437 horsepower and 585 Nm of torque. ...
The list of transmissions includes 6-speed "mechanics" and "automatic".
The car covers the "sprint race" up to 100 km / h in 4.4-4.8 seconds, maximizes the speed of 300-306 km / h and, on average, "eats" 12.6-13.4 liters of fuel in mixed mode.

Option Z06 "Flaunts" a 7.0-liter eight-cylinder "monster" with multipoint injection and a lubrication system with a dry sump, the return of which has 505 "mares" and 637 Nm of torque.
In tandem with a 6-speed "mechanics", it allows the sports car to leave behind the first "hundred" in 3.9 seconds and gain a "maximum speed" of 320 km / h.
The passport consumption of gasoline is 22.8 liters in the urban cycle and 10 liters when driving on the highway.

The most "crazy Corvette" of the sixth generation with the prefix ZR1 equipped with a V-shaped "eight" with a volume of 6.2 liters with a drive supercharger and distributed injection. In its bins - 638 horsepower and 820 Nm of limiting torque.
The transmission is mechanical with six steps and a close ratio of the gear row.
Spurt from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.4 seconds for the car, peak capabilities reach 330 km / h, and in combined conditions it requires 15 liters of fuel.

At the heart of the rear-wheel drive sports car is a steel space frame (for "charged" versions - aluminum). A power unit is mounted on it longitudinally and body elements made of fiberglass or carbon fiber are hung.
On both axles of the "Corvette" there is an independent suspension on double wishbones with a composite, transversely based spring, and a hydraulic booster is integrated into the steering system.

The Z06 and ZR1 have an electronically controlled chassis with active dampers.

"In a circle" the car is equipped with powerful ventilated discs of the brake system, supplemented by electronic assistants. In the arsenal of the "top" performance - carbon-ceramic devices.

Equipment and prices. In 2015, in the secondary market of Russia, the Chevrolet Corvette C6 is available at a price of 1,700,000 rubles for the standard version, but the cost of the ZR1 exceeds 4 million rubles.
As for the equipment, even the simplest sports car "flaunts": four airbags, leather trim, bi-xenon head optics, zone "climate", multimedia center, ABS, ESP and other equipment.
