The world premiere of the two-door took place in November 2013 at the same time at auto shows in Los Angeles and Tokyo, and its official sales in the countries of the Old World began in the spring of 2014. True, in the autumn of the same year, the "Briton" underwent a slight restyling, as a result of which it received a number of technical improvements (four-wheel drive, electric power steering instead of a hydraulic unit and a mechanical transmission) and new (not previously available) equipment.
The next update overtook the coupe in January 2017 (but it made its debut in this guise only in April - at the auto show in New York). This time, the modernization was accompanied not only by technical innovations (the car was separated by a 2.0-liter engine, and in some versions the chassis was also reconfigured) - it also slightly affected the exterior and interior, adjusted the model range and expanded the list of options offered.
But the British did not stop there either, and at the beginning of December 2019 they presented to the world community the coupe, which again experienced restyling, which turned out to be really complex - the two-door significantly "refreshed" the exterior, giving it a resemblance to the XE and XF cars, redesigned the interior decoration (in including, improving the finishing materials), added a new 450-horsepower modification with a V8 engine and separated new "gadgets".
The Jaguar F-Type Coupe looks really stunning - the beautiful, graceful and dynamic lines of its body are truly mesmerizing. A predatory front end with a piercing look of lighting technology and a large "mouth" of the radiator grille, a spectacular silhouette with a long hood, prominent rear "thighs" and a roof falling to the short stern, a sports rear with graceful "blades" of lamps and a powerful bumper - with all its appearance the car demonstrates confidence in oneself and healthy aggression.
Size and weight
The length of the sports coupe is 4470 mm, the wheelbase is 2622 mm, the width of the car does not exceed 1923 mm, and its height rests on the 1311 mm mark. The ground clearance (clearance) of the Jaguar F-Type is 112 mm in the base and 121 mm in the top version with adaptive suspension.
The curb weight varies from 1525 to 1674 kg, depending on the configuration.
Interior
The interior of the Jaguar F-Type is immediately sporty thanks to the driver-oriented cockpit, visually separated from the passenger area, which boasts an embossed three-spoke steering wheel and a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The center console is topped by a large multimedia system screen, under which is a stylish air conditioning unit with three swivel "washers" and displays inside.
The interior of the car is distinguished by exceptionally high-quality finishing materials, and the level of its assembly is at a solid level.
The salon at "Ef-Taipa" is strictly two-seater. The driver and passenger are embraced by sports seats with pronounced side bolsters, integrated head restraints, optimal padding density and wide adjustment intervals.
As befits a sports car, the “Briton” has a very modest trunk that can hold only 320 liters of cargo. The machine is characterized by a narrow opening, a solid loading height and no spare wheel.
Specifications
For the Jaguar F-Type coupe in the Russian market, there are two petrol modifications, each of which is equipped exclusively with an 8-band "automatic":
- The role of the "junior" in this line is played by the 2.0-liter "four" Ingenium with direct fuel supply, a manifold integrated into the block, phase shifters at the intake and a twin-working turbocharger that generates 300 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 400 N • m torque at 1500-4500 rpm.
It is combined only with a rear-wheel drive transmission, giving the car the following characteristics: acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds, "maximum speed" at 250 km / h and fuel consumption in the combined cycle is not more than 7.2 liters. - It is followed by a six-cylinder V-shaped engine with a working volume of 3.0 liters (2995 cm³), fully complying with the Euro-5 environmental standard and equipped with a turbocharger, a 24-valve DOHC timing belt and an electronically controlled distributed fuel injection system. Its power is 380 hp. at 6250 rpm, and recoil - 460 N • m at 3500-5000 rpm.
Both rear and four-wheel drive are connected to it, as a result of which the car "shoots" from a standstill to 100 km / h after 4.9-5.1 seconds, gaining maximum 275 km / h, and consumes no more than 8.9-9.1 liters of fuel in the cycle " city / highway ".
All-wheel drive versions of the two-door are equipped with a plug-in electronics Torque on-demand all-wheel drive with a multi-plate clutch, which is responsible for the distribution of traction. When driving on a dry road, the torque is transmitted between the axles in a ratio from 0: 100 to 30:70, but if necessary, up to 90% of the engine's effort can be delivered to the front end (but only for a short period of time).
It is worth noting that before the update in 2019, the car was equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 unit, which also generates either 340 hp. and 450 Nm, or 400 hp. and 460 Nm (but the first option is exclusively with rear-wheel drive, and the second is also with full).
Design features
At the heart of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a modified XK bogie with a body made of aluminum (cold formed and hydroformed). The two-door has a fully independent spring suspension based on double wishbones at the front and rear, as well as two variants of shock absorbers - simple sport or adaptive with electronic control for the "top" versions.
The brakes on all wheels of the car are disc, ventilated. The diameter of the front brake discs is 354 or 380 mm, depending on the version, devices with the dimension of 325 or 376 mm are used on the rear wheels.
As standard, the "Briton" is equipped with a steering system with an electric power steering and adjustable characteristics depending on the "driving" conditions.
Options and prices
In the Russian market, the 2020 Jaguar F-Type is offered in two trim levels to choose from - R-Dynamic and First Edition.
- For a car in the "basic" version with a 300-horsepower engine, they ask for a minimum of 5,715,000 rubles, for a rear-wheel-drive version with a V-shaped "six" you will have to fork out from 7,087,000, and if you also need four-wheel drive, please pay 7 390,000 rubles. By default, the coupe is equipped with: six airbags, fully LED optics, electric boot lid, heated windshield, steering wheel and seats, ABS, DSC, EBD, one-zone "climate", media center with a 10-inch screen, virtual instrument cluster, navigator, camera rear view, premium "music" and much more.
